Supreme Court of Chechnya cancels households’ gas debt write off

GROZNY, Apr 11 (PRIME) -- The Supreme Court of the Republic of Chechnya turned down an earlier court decision to write off housedolds’ 9 billion ruble debt for gas on Thursday.

The Zavodskoy District Court of Grozny ruled in January to write off the jeopardized debt, but supplier Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Grozny appealed against the decision.

Head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov said that information about gas debt forgiveness is groundless although Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Grozny has infrastructural problems in charging households for gas: people do not have gas meters, some gas is lost during transportation, and the consumer lists are extremely inaccurate.
